2Pak Blitz 2013.

It's a measure of the organisational kudos accrueing to the 2Pak Blitz Organising Committee (Dave Pepper and Steven Trundle, plus helpers) that even the weather was perfect.  The 2nd Annual 2Pak Blitz took place yesterday in glorious summer sunshine, as indeed it did last year.  A small but select invitational event, the teams of Softball Leinster's Premier division (bar one ignominious no-show) let their hair down (mostly) to battle it out at 2Pak Park.

Although conceived as a quality softball tournament, it is also a family day out, and that theme was very much in evidence with the many kids present.  In addition to the Softball, there were many other games present such as giant Connect 4, Swingball, Giant Jenga, Kids Badminton and an impromptu game of Kickball (soccer meets softball).  There were two kaleidoscopically bedecked face-painters present and almost every child sported a facial work-of-art, although one or two of their customers were a little over school age (no names).

Catering was laid on in the form of a very well presented barbeque with Chef Paddy Meehan ably assisted by his better half and our own Tairon (complete with skyblue sunnies).  And very tasty it was Paddy.

As to the softball, well after a great round robin stage in which the 2Pak team went undefeated, we were well beaten by a powerful Kegs team (well done Kegs).

Already looking forward to the 3rd Annual 2Pak Blitz.
